Cathy McCurnin has more than 20 years of experience overseeing occupational safety, environmental and health requirements supporting multi-million dollar design and construction / projects for clients across various industries. She is highly skilled in developing and implementing safety and training programs for construction projects, while meeting compliance requirements with OSHA, ANSI, and NIOSH standards. McCurnin spearheaded a safety program to position Armstrong Builders as one of only three General Contractors in the State of Hawaii certified in Hawaii Occupational Safety & Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP). She received Hawaii’s Governors Excellent in Safety Award (2008) as well as an award for managing SHARP (2007).
McCurnin earned her associate’s degree in occupational safety and health from Columbia Southern University. She is a member of ASSE, American Society of Safety Engineers / VOS, Veterans Of Safety Local and National / GCA, General Contractors Association Hawaii Safety Committee. She has also received the following certifications: OHST, Occupational Health & Safety Technologist; CHST, Construction Health & Safety Technician; STS, Safety Trained Supervisor; and CQCM, Quality Control Certification.
